Conventional fashion is presented as a luxury object which is within the reach of a small percentage of the world’s population due to its high costs. On the other hand, fast fashion or junk fashion appears to sell fashion when, in fact, what it sells is the visual appearance of high-impact trend proposals at an affordable price favoring excessive buying.
As an alternative to these two proposals, we suggest the emerging fashion with ethical principles also known as “slow fashion”. This option encompasses both the social impact of the production processes and the awareness of consumption habits as it embraces an ecological, long-lasting and sustainable fashion.
